Just 30 minutes from Windermere, Lakeland is situated on the beautiful coastal edge of the South Lakes. This park truly does have everything you need for a relaxing UK getaway.
Lakeland is the perfect base to explore Britain’s iconic Lake District. You can enjoy coastal walks, climb the highest mountains in England in the National Park, or even take a relaxing trip around Lake Windermere.
Are you a Downton Abbey fan? If so, look so further! The breath-taking Holder Hall can be found just two miles from Lakeland. Owned by Lady Cavendish, the hall is infamous for its portrayal in the beloved TV series and just one of many dazzling spots and historical hubs to be explored around Lakeland.
This park is not all about relaxing. For those wanting a more active break, there are a host of sports and leisure activities in the park for the whole family to enjoy. Priding itself on its heated indoor and outdoor pool, Lakeland encourages you to participate in poolside fun whatever the weather. Lakeland is home to its very own water sports centre for kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and pedalo for everyone looking to engage in some water sports! A big attraction to this park is Activity Lake, located in the centre of the park where you can hire your very own paddleboard or kayak. Coaching is on hand so everyone from beginners to professionals can have a go.
There is a sports field and Archery, football, and golf are all available with coached sessions for those wanting to learn new skills. The Crazy Golf, Bowling Green and Tennis Courts on site make for great family fun.
Lakeland is also one of the only Haven parks introducing footgolf, offering a unique experience the whole family can bond over. Grab a football and make your way around the course. The person who gets the ball in the whole in the least number of kicks is the winner! I know what you’re thinking, Lakeland is definitely the place to try something new!
Some activities are subject to a moderate extra charge
Good food and meals out are always a big part of any holiday and, at Lakeland you have the option to dine in or eat out with menus to suit everyone. There is a Mini Market, with an off-licence and fresh bakery section, which is always well stocked for those preferring to dine in or grab a snack on the go.
The dine out option include Lakeside Bay restaurant, Cook’s traditional fish and chips shop, and Papa John’s pizza shop, offering a variety of hot and cold drinks and hearty meals to choose from. Full breakfasts and lunches are also on offer and, in high season there are Summertime Barbecues on site.
Just picture watching your little explorers climb up Lakeland’s brand new mini aerial adventure with massive thrill-seeking grins on their faces, and their excitement when they have finally conquered the course. It’s safe to say kids love Lakeland for all the fun and games it has to offer. Children are at the heart of every caravan park, especially Lakeland, which aims to provide exciting new activities for them to engage in all year round. From Den Building to Adventure Trail, your kids are bound to get their hands (and clothes) dirty having the time of their lives and learning at the same time! With Grizedale Forest and South Lakes Safari nearby, your children will definitely get their fill of adventure. For those kids more suited to the indoors, the park is also home to its very own FunWorks amusement arcade, so make sure that your pockets are lined with two pence and ten pence coins! The Seaside Squad are also on-hand to keep young holidaymakers entertained, with a refreshed line-up and new shows to come.
A variety of Caravan homes are on offer at Lakeland. From bronze to signature, accommodation is inclusive to a wide range of budgets. Lakeland offers beautiful holiday homes at a variety of prices- even including a saver caravan at a tremendous value of £79 for 4 nights! All of the Holiday Homes offer the option of 2 or 3 bedrooms, and you can also choose the wider 12ft or 14ft models for even more space. All caravans come with a fridge, microwave, oven, gas fire, and a TV. You can upgrade your caravan to a gold or signature package, which offer more high spec features including, but not limited to a veranda, a dishwasher, a Bluetooth speaker, a hairdryer, and better views. Dog friendly units are also available to those that don’t wish to leave their fur babies at home.
Lakeland also offers a range of lodges for guests to choose from. Emerald, diamond, and lakeside lodges all come with allocated parking, all essential kitchen appliances, a 40-inch TV and DVD player, a Bluetooth speaker and more. Ranging from 16 ft wide to 20ft, these lodges are perfect for the whole family to enjoy. Their double glazing and central heating also make them a cosy choice for holiday makers even with our unpredictable British weather! Adapted holiday homes are also available which are suitable for wheelchair users.
In the beautiful location of the Lake District, Lakeside Park offers many fantastic days out that will appeal to the whole family. Only 15 miles away, Kendal, the third largest town in Cumbria is the perfect location for a trip out. Why not go and try its infamous mint cake and learn about its intriguing history. Lakeland Motor Museum is also only 7 miles away and is home to a prestigious collection of cars and is rich in motor history.
