With a beautiful and secluded location, The Orchards has it all - from an excellent location close to the coast to superb facilities and activities onsite to enjoy! The fabulous swimming pools are great for sunny and rainy days, the 9 hole golf course is great for spending the day out on the green and the one-acre lake perfect for a relaxing afternoon fishing. Families will love the range of eateries including the Mash and Barrel restaurant, Papa John's takeaway pizza and Cook's Fish and Chips, providing something for everyone. Enjoying a family meal together is the perfect end to a day of fun and adventure!
Haven holiday parks are all about families, so a lot of thought and expense goes into the sports and leisure facilities. Of course one of the highlights of the park is the water activities. With both a heated indoor and outdoor pool onsite, you can have fun splashing around no matter the weather! Make sure to book a session on the Aqua Inflatable for a different challenge on the water!
A unique feature of The Orchards holiday park is the onsite 9-hole golf course. Whether an experienced golfer or a newbie, everyone can have fun trying to get a hole-in-one on our course! We also love the fishing opportunities, with two course fishing lakes in the grounds of the park. Head over one sunny afternoon and see what you catch!
There's also a range of fun sporty activities to get stuck into - there are activity leaders on hand to offer coaching in archery or fencing, or why not tackle the climbing wall and test your head for heights? The bungee trampoline is popular for kids of all ages, while the target shooting provides fun for teenagers.
There are also lots of opportunities to explore the nature around you when at the park. Embark on the Nature Trail to learn about the plants and animals living in the rural setting, have a go at building your own den or even make some mud pies to unleash your creative side!

Your Haven Holiday is all about having a good time and part of this is eating well. Food and drink can be an important part of your holiday so there are plenty of delicious options at The Orchards. For full family meals we love the Mash & Barrel, Haven's signature restaurant with a menu serving up an array of classic meals ensuring everyone finds something they like! With a large open terrace overlooking the pool, enjoy a delicious dinner out in the evening sun with some lovely views.
Takeaway food can be a great easy option, especially after a busy day getting stuck into lots of activities. Papa John's is a firm favourite, especially for kids and teenagers - after all, who doesn't love pizza?! Simply choose from the range of fresh pizza toppings, pick them up and take them back to enjoy from the comfort of your holiday accommodation. You could even choose a nice spot onsite for a picnic! If you fancy a burger, head over to the new Burger King Pod for some quick tasty burgers and fries! This is great for a quick no-hassle lunch!
When at the seaside, a fish and chips is a must! Luckily, Cook's Fish and Chips is onsite to provide you with all the coastal classics - from fish and chips, to battered sausage and mushy peas!
Box Bar is a great spot to enjoy a cold refreshing drink while watching some outdoor entertainment and relax on your holiday! Make the most of the warm weather and beautiful scenery.
Kids of all ages are well catered for at Haven holiday parks and Orchards is no exception. The Activikids sessions are designed with kids aged 5-10 in mind and are a great chance for kids to make some new friends! With activities like Dodgeball and Obstacle Courses on offer, this is a great opportunity for kids to have a friendly competition and have a good run around. The activity leaders are experienced and help provide a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for everyone there!
Similar to the Activikids sessions, Activitots sessions run a range of fun activities for little ones to run around and try some new games. Aimed at 2-4 year olds, the games are suitable for smaller children and help to practise and develop skills including balance and co-ordination. There are lots of fun activities to try out, from parachute games to ball sports.
The mini sports on offer give younger kids a chance to try some more extreme sports, such as climbing and archery, but in a safe environment.
Older kids will love the Nerf training camps, where they can form teams and have a friendly battle with the Nerf guns. Have fun darting around avoiding being hit and creating strategies to bring your team to victory!
The Seaside Squad is part of Haven's onsite entertainment team and will become your little ones' new favourite characters! Putting on fun and interactive shows everyday, the whole family will be dancing and singing along. There's even some fun opportunities to meet the mascots while taking part in some creative activities - kids love making a cuddly teddy bear with the Seaside Squad, making unique memories of their family holiday!
There's accommodation options for everyone at The Orchards! Choose from the various traditional caravans for a classic seaside holiday. The different models offer you value for money and some more spacious options. All are self catering, giving you the flexibility to plan your days as you like on your own schedule. There are caravans adapted for wheelchair users, which are custom built to have a more accessible layout. There are also dog friendly caravans available, meaning no member of the family is left out!
The Saver model is an affordable caravan with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. With a living room with a TV, a well equipped kitchen and bedrooms sleeping up to 6 guests, this is a popular choice for many visitors. The Bronze model has the same fantastic amenities but is slightly larger, sleeping up to 8 guests and with a large open plan kitchen and lounge. Enjoy the extra space to spread out and relax in your home away from home! Upgrade to the Silver model to benefit from a lovely outdoor decking or veranda complete with outdoor furniture. This private outdoor space is great for sharing meals together under the blue skies or simply relaxing with a good book in the sun! Enjoy a second TV in the master bedroom. For a luxurious stay why not choose the Gold model? With more outdoor space thanks to the wrap around decking, it is a great spot for making family memories together. The interior furniture and decorations are more modern and sleek and the amenities are taken up a notch, for example with a larger fridge and Bluetooth speaker in the living room. The Signature model is top of the range, boasting fantastic indoor and outdoor design with the added luxury of a lakeside view. Open the windows every morning to picturesque views of the nature surrounding you - it doesn't get much better than this!
Haven The Orchards has an ideal location in Essex for family days out. For example the lively resort of Clacton-on-Sea is just 5 miles away. Here you can take advantage of lovely sandy beaches in the summer months or spend a fun filled day on the rides on the pier.
Just a short drive away, the historic town of Colchester is worth a visit. Explore Colchester Castle, the largest Norman keep in Europe and learn about the town's rich history. Wander through the cobbled streets of the town center or explore the beautiful Colchester Castle Park. Colchester Zoo is also highly recommended for families and is based just 17 miles from The Orchards. This amazing zoo is formed from 60 acres of parkland, home to 160 different species. With countless animal experiences, kids will love this unique chance to get up close to some unique animals!
Mersea Island is a charming destination for a day trip. Known for its fresh seafood, you can sample some delicious oysters and seafood at the local restaurants. Enjoy a walk along the beach, explore the picturesque Mersea Island Vineyard or visit the Mersea Island Museum to learn about the island's history.
If you're looking for some family fun, Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea is a great choice. This amusement park offers a variety of rides, including roller coasters, water rides and attractions suitable for all ages.
For a unique day out then Jimmy's Farm is not to be missed. A little further afield but less than 35 miles from the park, you can explore a working farm with rare breeds and a nature trail. This farm has even been featured on TV!
There have been many great reviews from recent holidaymakers about this park. One guest has commented, "Came back from this fantastic Haven park 2 days ago & really wish I was still there" while another has said it is a "peaceful haven" and have visited various times thanks to the "wildlife, nature trails, inlet walks and a nice clean friendly park".
